There are so many different ways to get involved in the PTO. Not only can you volunteer your time by signing up to help out with events, but you can also volunteer your skills by helping us plan for the school year, carry out ideas, and even put together packets that need to be sent home to families. You can see a list of our current volunteer opportunities below.
Color Run Committee
This is the group that helps plan the event that we use to kickoff the new school year. Volunteers work to secure sponsors for the event, create fun and inventive ways to get students excited to participate, come up with ideas for fundraising tier prizes, complete set up the day of, and so much more! Note: the Color Run Committee is looking to bring on a new co-chair for the 2025-2026 school year. If you're interested, please email sespto@salisburysd.org to get more information!
Vendor Fair Vendors and Donations
Looking to get involved but don't have a lot of time to donate? Consider helping out with the Fall Craft and Vendor Fair! We are always looking for donations for our concession stand! As the event gets closer we'll post more about what we're looking for this year, but typically we need hot dog rolls, dessert items, and gift cards for grocery stores. You can email sespto@salisburysd.org for more info!
Want to get info about getting a table at the fair so that you can sell stuff? We've got you covered there as well. You can email sespto@salisburysd.org for more info.
Holiday Shop Shoppers
Those who volunteer to help with Holiday Shop truly get to experience something magical as they come in and help set the store up, decorate, and walk around with students as they shop for their nearest and dearest. We often start looking for volunteers for the Holiday Shop mid-November, or a few weeks before the shop is set to start. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in learning more about, you can email one of our Holiday Shop Co-Chairs at lakewi2016@gmail.com.
Purse Bingo Committee
The committee that plans our annual Purse Bingo event, which is typically held the second Saturday in March, from noon until 4PM. We're always looking for a lot of help, including sponsors, for this event. If you'd like to learn more you can email lmkormanik@gmail.com for more information.
Ice Cream Festival Committee
Planning will begin for June's Ice Cream Festival beginning in January so anyone interested in helping with this event should email sespto@salisburysd.org as soon as possible. This is Salisbury's oldest running tradition and one that many people alumni and parents have fond memories of.
The District's Comprehensive Steering Committee
The PTO is committed to ensuring that all students feel included and represented, which is why we are pleased to share that Assistant Superintendent Kelly Pauling will be addressing community concerns through a Comprehensive Planning Committee. While this is not a PTO run group, our organization will follow the DEI objectives identified and rolled out by the district. Anyone looking for more information about this group can contact Ms. Pauling directly at kpauling@salisburysd.org.
There will be more opportunities throughout the year, including some of the options listed below.
Please feel free to reach out to us by emailing sespto@salisburysd.org if you would like more information about how you can volunteer or if you'd like to sign up to help with any of our events.
