The annual Holiday Shop is one of the longer standing traditions at the elementary school. Each year, the PTO works with a third-party vendor to create a mini-store where the students can come in during the school day and shop for their friends, families, and teachers.

This shop is set up with a new, non-denominational theme each year. It's run during the school day, and each class is giving a scheduled shopping window in which they are invited down to buy their items. Letters about the shop go home with students ahead of time, explaining the process and offering parents and caregivers to set a budget for their student.

Because we never want any child to feel excluded, every student will get a special shopping ticket that they can use to purchase something from the store, ensuring that nobody goes home empty handed.

We open the school store up for evening shopping hours during one night of the nearly week long event, inviting families, siblings, and community members to come and shop, watch a movie, enjoy complimentary snacks, or take part in a winter-themed activity.

This event does need a lot of volunteers to run smoothly, which is why we ask that parents sign up to come in and help the students shop during the day. We'll post more about our specific Holiday Shop needs as the event approaches, including when each class will be slated to shop.
